Our retired horses reside at a private stable in the area, living the life of leisure thanks to the generosity of Helen Hart
Red might be big but he couldn't be more gentle. He worked as a Chicago police horse for many years before he came to HF. Big Red and Scat are best friends, maybe because they are so much alike. Red is a quiet smooth slow moving fellow with remarkable patience for all of his riders. He is a chestnut with a large star and one small sock. Big Red is truly a gentle giant and was a favorite for beginning riders.
Scat was one of the best therapy horses anyone could ask for. He was a Chicago police horse for many years before coming to HF. He is a very kind and extremely patient horse that has taught many children and adults how to ride. Scat is a chestnut with a stripe and two hind socks. He is the elder statesman of our horses and was an irreplaceable member of the Horsefeathers family.
