Book is a Tribute To Hardworking Horses
Lynda Vital delights children with picture book about a Police horse’s search for a home
Horsefeathers volunteer Lynda Vital shares a fascinating story of friendship and love with her picture book, A New Life for Bud.
Bud is a Chicago Police horse who works with his partner, Sergeant McNair. One day, Bud finds out he must retire. He worries about what will happen to him. Will Sergeant McNair be able to find a perfect home for Bud?
Sergeant McNair finds a barn where horses work in a therapeutic riding program, and Bud starts his second career. He meets a sad young man named Danny, who becomes his new best friend. Thanks to Bud, Danny also begins a new life.
This timeless tale entertains children while having them learn valuable lessons along the way. Following the story are two appendices that will add to the readers’ understanding of the two very different lives that Bud has led.
