stephaine"I love horseback riding.  These big, gentle animals are my friends.  They know my scent and they know my voice when I call their names.  Riding on Ice, Poco and Tia makes me happy.  I like to brush them and give them treats like peppermints.  I have been riding since I was 12.  I hope I can ride for a long, long time."

"Volunteering with Nick and the horses doing therapeutic riding has been the love of my life for almost 10 years.  Working with the crew at Horsefeathers --- four-footed and two-footed alike --- is as therapeutic for me as for any of our riders."

Abby's dad

abby"Riding has helped strengthen the trunk.  She's like a jack-in-the-box, she now has the strength to sit up and stay up under her own power, which she could not do before.  She really enjoys riding too."

Dominique"My daughter, Dominique, is 17 years old and has been diagnosed with autism.  Horseback riding at Horsefeathers has been a blessing in her life.  Horseback riding has been the first activity she has been successful at performing.  When given a diagnosis of autism, most daily activities and recreation are a challenge.

But, the moment she sat on a horse, with Nick as her instructor, she immediately felt a sense of pride at accomplishing a very difficult task of riding and directing her horse by herself while staying calm and focused.  It is essential for her to feel that she is good at something when so many tasks serve to be such a challenge for her.

Horsefeathers has given her something she can excel at and a feeling of competence that she carries into other aspects of her life.  Thank You Horsefeathers for giving my daughter the opportunity to feel pride and joy in a job well done!  That is an invaluable feeling!
